CIA "Stonewalled" 911 Commision

advertisement

After recently learning that the CIA destroyed videotaped interrogations of suspected Al Qaeda members, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the 911 Commission have blasted the spy agency for obstructing the official investigation.

In an Op/Ed in todays New York Times, Thomas H. Kean and Lee H. Hamilton, say the Central Intelligence Agency ignored repeated requests by the 911 investigators to disclose all available evidence.

"The commission's mandate was sweeping and it explicitly included the intelligence agencies. But the recent revelations that the C.I.A. destroyed videotaped interrogations of Qaeda operatives leads us to conclude that the agency failed to respond to our lawful requests for information about the 9/11 plot. Those who knew about those videotapes — and did not tell us about them — obstructed our investigation."

The 911 Commission--also known as the "Kean Commission"-- was assembled by the Bush Administration and Congress, to investigate the events of the September 11th, 2001 and give recommendations to prevent any such attacks in the future.

They failed miserably.

Many Americans, as well as people worldwide, including thousands of professionals, such as doctors, politicians military officers and engineers, have stated repeatedly that the 911 Commission was a "whitewash" and that it was set up to fail from the beginning.

Dr. David Ray Griffin, in his book, "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions" reveals hundreds...yes, hundreds...of problems with the "Official Conspiracy Theory".

There are also virtually tens (perhaps hundreds) of millions in America alone, who say that the 9/11 Commission was a sham, and have been fighting to force a new independent investigation.

Question - Why did the CIA stonewall the 9/11 investigation?
